The National Minimum Wage for an apprentice aged under 19 is £3.70 per hour, if aged over 19 this is £3.70 for the first year of employment, then after 12 months the salary migrates to the National Minimum Wage for the relevant age bracket.

Employers supported by the WCAA will receive a £500 grant paid in two instalments to help support the apprenticeship training. Apprentices also receive a £250 trade voucher to help them purchase tools and equipment needed for their apprenticeship. .
